Sequoia Tree, sequoia tree,
If you could only speak to me
What kind of story could you tell
From high up in the foggy mountains?
You are the largest living thing on earth
You are around since the days of Jesus birth
But is that of any relevance?
Do you think that you are special?
I’m sitting here for hours
Just staring at this magic tree
It’s not the point that you’re so tall and old
But I really like your personality
Sequoia Tree, sequoia tree,
If you could only speak to me
What kind of story could you tell
From high up in the foggy mountains?
Then white men came across the Great Divide
Seeking their fortunes on the other side
They cut down a lot of your fellow friends
And gave (martial) names to the rest of you
And don’t you think it’s kinda strange
To bear the name of a general?
I’m sure you don’t give a damn
Because all what people do is so ephemeral
Sequoia Tree, sequoia tree,
If you could only speak to me
What kind of story could you tell
From high up in the foggy mountains?
If you could only speak to me
What kind of story could you tell
From high up in the foggy mountains?
