Waiting For Louise "Waiting For Louise" E=MC², 2017

Little boy, at the age of twelve, maybe he was thirteen,
Dressing like a soldier for carnival
A khaki-shirt and leather boots
A red bandana and a wooden gun

When he was looking in the mirror: he was scared what he could see
A kind of person that he never ever wanted to be
So he made a promise to himself and he swore he never would renege
Never in his life, oh, never in his life
He would pick up a gun

I met the old lady at the Red Victorian
On Haight Street by the Frisco Bay
She’s living there for more than 40 years
Offering bed & breakfast for a peaceful world

She has a book called “time capsule”, she handed it to me
To write down a few lines about my personal experience with peace
So I wrote about the soldier boy and the promise he never had reneged
Never in his life, oh, never in his life
He had picked up a gun
